CAMBRIDGE BOTANICAL GARDENS
Here we go with another post, and it's a hefty one! (RIP dial-up users). Inspired by our fellow leaf lovers, Haarkon, we took a trip to the city of Cambridge to see their vast botanical gardens. The first of many, it was a great introduction to greenhouse adventures and our first venture outside of Norfolk together.
Starting with brunch at The Old Bicycle Shop (a worthy competitor to Norwich's own), we then made our way through the rain towards the garden grounds. En route our feet accidentally led us in a cosy bakery, and we found ourselves somehow leaving with yet more foods.
Walking through the grounds of Cambridge University Botanic Garden we were immediately drawn to the huge greenhouses in the distance, and is where we went on to spend the majority of our time while in the gardens... partly down to the fact we didn't bring an umbrella!
The variety of plants, the mix of wood frame and metal, and of course the numerous opportunities for #plantsatthewindow means that this botanical garden will be a tough one to beat - we were impressed to say the least!
If like us you love a good plant account or two, here are a few of our favourites: Haarkon, Plants at the Window, My Lovely Days, MoonKo, Craig O Williams, Foliage and Fur, Milli Proust, Still_, and Friederikchen... plus the amazing book Botanical by Samuel Zeller.
Check back soon for our next adventure!
