NORFOLK | KINGS LYNN

Have you ever decided to go somewhere for no other reason than you just haven’t been there before? Well, that’s how we found ourselves in the centre of King's Lynn one Thursday afternoon. With no real destination in mind or foodie places to check out (I know!) we set off into the unknown...
We hoped that King's Lynn would surprise us with some good explores, but after a quick look around the main high street we were perhaps a little disappointed. Time to do what we do best and turn in the opposite direction of the crowds! Without knowing exactly where we were heading, we stumbled across Old Town area. Like stepping back in time, we ended up pottering around the medieval streets, admiring the little details in the buildings and the pastel-y colours of the houses - and of course, taking photos of all the doors!

(Below: Larry most likely smirking at something Cliv sent him)

We’d liked to have spent more time exploring the Purfleet Quay area but it was super chilly and neither of us had dressed for the cold weather yet again (gloves next time)! Plus our stomachs were rumbling (as usual), and having no luck finding anywhere in the town centre that excited us, and Golding's Deli just being shut up for the day, we decided to head back to the car and drive along to the coast for an Eric's!

SUFFOLK | WOODBRIDGE

We spent the majority of our trip to Woodbridge narrowing down places to eat. Deciding on Honey and Harvey, we made a beeline straight from the car park to the cafe, noting a few places to head back to once we were sufficiently full and charged on coffee.
The cafe was probably the busiest place on the main high street, but it's not hard to see why once you're inside and see the counter full of deliciousness... but first thing's first, be sure to go and grab a free table before ordering at the front. Now, we're not usually ones for ordering salad, but as soon as we entered Honey and Harvey the enormous bowls on counter were too hard to resist. Just a little tip, go for the small bowl - we went for the large and ended up being too stuffed for pastries!

Back outside (and already planning our next trip to Honey and Harvey), we headed back to a few shops we'd passed on brunch route - most notably were Browsers Bookshop, Vintage Forty Nine and Archive.

Other than these, there wasn't really much to visit along the main high street, so picking a street at random headed off to find what else there was to see in the town.

A few cute streets later, we made our way down to the Quayside.

The quayside could quite possibly be the coldest place on earth (or maybe it's just that we didn't dress for the weather). After a good explore we headed back towards the main street in search of a place to warm up.
Ironically, I was in search of an iced coffee which we failed to find, so headed up another random street to continue exploring. Being a tad disappointed by the main high street's selection, we were pleasantly surprised to stumble across a selection of independent stores that we never would have found had we settled for warming up in a cafe!

We could've looked in the window of Woodbridge Violins for ages...

And Webb Brothers had a similar vibe to Thorns - which anyone from Norwich will no doubt understand!
Homespun (below) was full of a beautiful selection of clothes, albeit out of our budget! We do just have to mention how friendly and helpful the woman working there was though. She pointed us in the direction of numerous independent stores in the area, where to grab coffee, and told us of the exciting development of their business. We can't wait to return and see their new store collective - New Street Market.

We couldn't leave Woodbridge with out popping in to one last shop, Vanil, a Scandinavian-inspired lifestyle and interiors store. The cutest store set up at the front of the owners home - we left with quite the wishlist!

Thank you if you made it to the end of this super long post!
