Welcome to our first "Passing Through" post, a series of places and spaces that we've found on the way to our main explore.
We love a greenhouse and we love an abandoned building, so we got lucky spotting this closed down garden centre on the way to Ely. Pulling up to a car park with the most pot holes we'd ever seen, the place had an eerie feeling to it. Still, we squeezed through a gap beside the gate and took a look around...
We've seen other abandoned greenhouses abit closer to home, so no doubt there will be another post in the works soon!

Long time no post. Things have been changing for us over the past few months here at Thursdays Archive HQ... but more on that later! We've got lots to share with you in the coming weeks, but starting off with a day trip over to Ely.
It's been on our list for a while now having passed by on the train on many occasions - it's hard to miss the huge cathedral towering over the rest of the town. Heading up the high street towards the main square, it became apparent that we had visited on Market Day. We made a beeline straight for the coffee and bakery stalls, positioned dangerously close to eachother. A pastry or three in hand, we continued wandering around the market somehow successfully resisting any antique related buys.
Turning off the high street (as always), we went in search of a good bin for Larry to add to his portfolio.
Success! Time to head back towards Ely's main attraction - the Catherdral.
After a walk around the grounds, it began to rain so we headed inside to take shelter (and add another shoefie to the collection)! Had the moon art piece still been in place from the Ely Cathedral Science Festival, we might have paid to go in and have a look around. Instead, we got a quick snap of the impressive ceiling and then continued exploring outside as the rain eased off.
Down a residential street we came across a cute little seat. We sat awkwardly in said seat.
Past more cute gardens and groups of bins, we found Ely's Riverside area and Jubilee Gardens. There was also a crazy long queue outside a wisteria covered house, which we soon found out to be Peacocks Tearoom - apparently THE place for afternoon tea - one to add to the list for next time. With food now on our minds once more we turned back towards the centre, passing a perfect #sundaycarpic opportunity...
... and many an excellent doorway and window, time to start adding to #doorfolk!
Following a recommendation from a friend, we picked up a quick bite to eat at Lemon Tree Deli Cafe on the main square before heading home.
